iPhone 4 actually drops 100% more calls then 3GS

While Jobs did admit this fact in his press conference, he mangled the stats to make the iPhone 4's dropped call increase look minor. "The iPhone 4 drops less than one additional call per 100 than the 3GS," he said. As Jobs sees it, that's not a big rise in dropped calls. Yet that's not an obvious conclusion. Last year, an AT&T spokesman told me that AT&T's average iPhone dropped-call rate is 1 percent—in other words, the old iPhone dropped one call out of 100. If the iPhone 4 drops nearly one additional call out of 100, that could be close to a 2 percent dropped-call rate—or double the dropped-call rate of the old iPhone. That sounds a lot more serious, doesn't it?

The number is 0,91% - http://daringfireball.net/linked/2010/07/21/att-antennagate
This article sums it up fine too http://daringfireball.net/2010/07/antennagate_bottom_line
Apple has fucked up the response and situation itself - the technical problem is not that critical, but the tone and approach is really wrong. Like the now infamous apple.com/antenna - just like 8 year old kids on the playground.

Selling 3 milion iPhones in 23 days is actually not really that impressive

“3 million phones in 23 days – that’s a pretty strong clip, the fastest sales of an Apple phone to date, Mashable reports. If I do the math, that’s more than 130,000 phones a day.

But did anyone in the press notice Google’s little announcement, the day before Apple launched its iPhone 4? This one? The one where Google said, and I quote: ’Every day 160,000 Android-powered devices are activated — that’s nearly two devices every second.’

Yep, that’d be 30K MORE phones a day than Apple. And my guess is that Android’s pace is accelerating, while the iPhone 4 is probably sliding downward, given how many folks bought it at launch (Mashable reports that 1.7 million were sold in first three days, so 1.3 million the next 20 days). In fact, if you do THAT math, and divide 1.3 million by 20 days, you get 65,000 iPhone 4s sold each day, which is nearly 100,000 less, PER DAY, than Android phones.”

I say - go droid. The iOS4 is a major fuck-up for 3G owners - it may help the Android sales even further :)

Svobodnější plánování času, možnost vybrat si, co a kdy budete dělat. A v Česku i výhodnější zdanění.

Jasné a k veci

11s cold boot to standard Windows 7 - Lenovo FTW!

Speed is one of these advantages.  In the 3 minute (or so) video below, I interview John and he demos a ThinkPad T400 with its BIOS replaced with UEFI.  Otherwise, the system is a stock T400 with a plain vanilla Windows 7 load from the Microsoft install DVD.  It cold boots to a fully functioning Windows desktop in about 11 seconds or so.

You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video

Way to go!
